A year-long effort by the whole organ-playing community to increase not only the number of people learning to play the organ but also the number enjoying live and recorded organ music – that’s the purpose of Play the Organ Year 2025, recently announced by the Royal College of Organists.
Organist superstar Anna Lapwood is Patron of Play the Organ Year 2025, and she is joined by regional Ambassadors around the UK, including John Kitchen in Scotland, Sarah MacDonald for the East of England, and Matthew Owens in Northern Ireland.
New this month is an online listings page where you can add your own PTOY2025 event, or find one in your region. A resource pack and new FIRST STOP! website are in preparation, and I’ll update here as soon as they come online.
