The Orgelbuchlein Project is a major international composition project to complete Bach’s plan for his ‘Little Organ Book’ and provide the 118 missing pieces where only the title was provided by Bach. The new pieces were commissioned from composers at work today in a range of modern styles, and are being published by Peters. A complete performance will take place in London venues across the weekend of 23-25 September. Each of nine concerts will be presented by broadcaster Zeb Soanes and feature a themed collection of contemporary pieces plus a selection of Bach’s original compositions. A masterclass by John Scott Whiteley will open the weekend.
